Know when your Cineplex tickets go on sale

Big releases often get announced weeks before showtimes appear, and the best seats for opening night can go within the first hour. A showtime watch emails you when a matching showtime is published at your theatre.

How a showtime watch works

  1. Choose the movie and theatre. Pick the date and format you want, for example IMAX on opening night.
  2. We keep checking. The service checks Cineplex's public showtime listings every few minutes.
  3. You get an email when a matching showtime appears, with a link to book on Cineplex.

When do Cineplex tickets go on sale?

There's no fixed schedule. Studios and Cineplex decide when advance tickets open, and it differs by movie, theatre and format. Some go on sale weeks early with a few days' notice, others appear with no announcement. Premium formats and fan events sometimes open on a different day from regular screenings. Because the timing changes from one release to the next, an alert works better than checking the page every morning.

Release watch or seat watch?

Use a showtime watch when the showtime you want isn't listed yet. Use a seat watch when the showtime is listed but sold out, or the seats you want are taken. Once your showtime is published, you can set up a seat watch on it too.

Cineplex controls when tickets go on sale and sells them. CineNotify is an independent service, so it can't promise a release time or get you early access. It tells you when the listing appears.

Questions

Can it tell me the moment Cineplex advance tickets go live?

It checks the public listings every few minutes and emails you when a matching showtime appears, so you usually hear within a few minutes of the release.

What if the movie isn't in the list yet?

Movies appear in the picker once Cineplex lists them. If a movie has been announced but isn't listed anywhere yet, check back closer to release.
