CineNotify / IMAX seat alerts
Get an alert when a better Cineplex IMAX seat opens
IMAX and other premium screenings have fewer showtimes and fewer good seats, and for big releases the centre rows go first. A seat watch on an IMAX showtime emails you when seats in the area you picked come back.
Formats you can watch
Choose a format when you set up your alert: IMAX, UltraAVX, 4DX, ScreenX, VIP or regular screenings, wherever your theatre lists them. The format list comes from what's actually scheduled at that location.
Watch an IMAX showtimePicking seats in a premium auditorium
Premium auditoriums aren't all laid out the same, so there's no single best row. A few general guidelines:
- IMAX: the screen is large and close, so many people prefer the middle third of the auditorium, not the front.
- 4DX: the whole room moves, so the seat matters less than the view. Pick a row based on how far back you like to sit.
- VIP: recliners in smaller rooms, where the back rows usually still have a good view.
- Groups: set how many seats you need together so the alert ignores scattered singles.

Always check the live seat map on Cineplex before paying. An alert reports what was free at the last check and doesn't hold seats for you.
Questions
Can I watch only certain rows in an IMAX theatre?
Yes. When you set up a seat watch you can choose rows or specific seats, and how many you need together.
