CineNotify / Seat alerts
Get an alert when the Cineplex seats you want open up
A showtime showing as sold out, or with only front-row seats left, often changes. Seats come back when people cancel, exchange tickets or let a checkout hold expire. CineNotify watches the public seat map for you and emails you when a match appears.
How a seat alert works
- Pick the showtime. Choose a theatre, movie, date and format such as IMAX, UltraAVX or VIP.
- Describe the seats you want. Choose rows or specific seat numbers, how many seats you need side by side, or any seat at all. Accessible seating is supported.
- Get one email. The service checks the seat map every few minutes. When a matching block of seats becomes free, you get an email with a link back to Cineplex to book.
Why sold-out seats come back
When you pick seats on Cineplex, they're held for a short time while you check out. If someone abandons checkout, those seats go back on sale. Refunds, exchanges and group bookings that change size free up seats too. For high-demand openings, this happens a lot in the first few days, and it's easy to miss if you aren't refreshing the page.
Seats beside each other
If you're going with friends, set how many seats you need together. The alert only fires when that many adjacent seats in your chosen area are free, so you won't get emailed about two single seats on opposite sides of the auditorium.
No duplicate emails
You get one email when a new match appears. The same seats showing up again on the next check don't trigger another message. You can re-arm or delete a watch from My alerts.
An alert is not a reservation. Seats that come back can sell again within minutes, so open the link and finish checkout on Cineplex as soon as you can. CineNotify never logs in to your account, holds seats or buys tickets.
Questions
How often are seats checked?
Each watched showtime is checked every few minutes, and as often as every two minutes when the service is quiet. The service caps how many alerts run at once so checks stay frequent.
Do I need a Cineplex account?
No. You sign in to CineNotify with your email so alerts reach you. CineNotify never asks for your Cineplex password or payment card.
Is it free?
Yes. CineNotify is free. When it reaches capacity, new sign-ups pause until spots open up.
