Question 1

What is CineNotify?

Accepted Answer

It is an independent email alert service for Canadian moviegoers. It watches for selected Cineplex showtimes or public seat availability and links you back to Cineplex when a match is found.

Question 2

Can it tell me when Cineplex tickets go on sale?

Accepted Answer

A release watch can look for a matching movie, theatre, date, and format before tickets appear. Cineplex controls when inventory is published, so the service cannot guarantee a release time.

Question 3

Can it watch for a better seat after a showtime sells out?

Accepted Answer

It can watch a listed showtime when public seat data is available. You can look for any seat or use the seat preferences shown in the watch flow. A seat can disappear before you finish checkout.

Question 4

Does an alert reserve a seat for me?

Accepted Answer

No. An alert only reports what was available during a check. Open the Cineplex link and confirm the live seat map before paying.

Question 5

Do you need my Cineplex login or payment information?

Accepted Answer

No. The service should not ask for a Cineplex password or payment card. It sends you to Cineplex when you are ready to purchase.

Question 6

Why did a seat disappear after I received an email?

Accepted Answer

Seat availability changes as people buy, release, or temporarily hold tickets. The email describes an earlier check and does not hold the seat for you.

Question 7

Will I receive an email for every small seat-map change?

Accepted Answer

A useful watch should notify you when a new match appears and suppress repeated messages for the same match. Re-arming a watch can allow another alert later.

Question 8

Is CineNotify affiliated with Cineplex?

Accepted Answer

No. CineNotify is an independent service and is not endorsed by or affiliated with Cineplex Entertainment.
